Giridhar Kumaran (Scientist, Microsoft LiveLabs)
Giridhar's research has been in the areas of information retrieval, web search, user interaction, specialized query processing, topic detection and tracking, and machine learning. At Microsoft Research, he worked on analyzing click-through information on search results to improve the quality of training data for the Live Search Engine. At Yahoo! Research, he helped develop an advanced search feature (familiarity classifier) that allowed users to re-rank search results by their familiarity with the query's topic.
A few days before joining Microsoft LiveLabs, Giridhar spent over 4 hours going through Relona's demo system and conducting a careful comparison study. Garrett is a well-known expert in search and has been reporting on the industry over the last 4 years since he started at WebProNews as a search engine correspondent. He was the managing editor of SearchEngineLowdown a site run by Market Smart Interactive and has been a regular contributor to the SearchEngineJournal.

Phil Bradley (formerly of SearchEngineWatch)
Phil Bradley is an information specialist and has worked in the area of electronic publications for over 20 years. He became an Internet Consultant in 1996 and specializes in search, often being referred to as the 'UK Search Guru'. He teaches many varied courses on aspects of the Internet, both publicly available and in-company. Phil is also well known for his writing, and he has written several books on different aspects of the Internet, and is also very well known on the conference circuit. Phil is also one of the Microsoft 'Search Champs', providing them with feedback on their developments in search technology. He is a well known speaker at the ONLINE and the Internet Librarian conferences, and also often speaks at the UKOLUG conference. He often speaks at the AGMs for various organizations such as the Rare Books Association and ARLIS.
